Here at rare tempo, we advocate for the arts all day, which of course includes you, creative writers!
While the iconic image of a writer paints you at a dimly lit desk, alone with your thought demons, we know that writers are sometimes people too, and you’re social creatures!
If you’re in the St. Pete area looking to bounce ideas off of your peers, gain inspiration from like-minded individuals, or simply move to another part of the library, the St. Petersburg Writers Group assembles every 2nd Thursday of the month. Join them at St. Petersburg Main Public Library (3745 9th Avenue North) from 5:30 to 7:30 pm- it’s free and open to the public!
For our Denver area dudes and dudettes, check out the Colorado Authors’ League, which meets monthly at different locations in the Denver area. CAL requires membership, which gets you
access to their newsletter and directory, eligibility to enter writing contests, discounts on workshops and expos, and an invitation to the annual banquet (the cherry on top!), among other plentiful perks.
If you’re a writer anywhere else in the U.S., we love you too! Locate your closest writers’ group here. Leave us a comment with your favorite writing coalitions, contests, and opportunities, and write on, creators!
