Attention ceramicists/ potters/ clay sculptors/ mud enthusiasts! The Morean Center for Clay, in Saint Petersburg, Florida, is hosting a two-day workshop led by renowned ceramic artist Eric Botbyl.
The hands-on workshop will push, pull, cut and stretch your work to new heights. Eric will demonstrate with his own work how to achieve similar dynamic surfaces and textures, while he guides students individually in developing their own unique style with these techniques. He will also cover lessons on slips, inlay, and ash glazes done through multiple firings. Eric will be encouraging discussion in regards to applying to shows, getting gallery representation and other useful aspects of running a ceramic business.
This workshop is open to all experience levels and welcomes both wheel throwers and hand builders. It takes place on November 9th & 10th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, both days.

About the Artist
Eric Botbyl is a studio potter and owner of the Companion Gallery in Humboldt, Tennessee. The Companion Gallery is a nationally acclaimed educational facility and ceramic gallery featuring over thirty ceramicists. Eric teaches community classes in his home studio and workshops throughout the United States and Canada. In 2016, he received the Best Thrown and Altered award at the Strictly Functional Pottery National in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
